One gripper instead of a drawer full of them

Fixed-resistance grippers have one setting and a short life: too hard on day one, too easy by month three, and then they sit in a drawer while you buy the next one up.

This one has a dial. Eleven pounds up to a hundred and thirty-two, so it covers your first sets and your heaviest ones without buying anything else.

Turn the dial, change the workout

A knurled collar loads and unloads the spring, so you can drop the tension for high-rep endurance work and wind it up for heavy singles in the same session — or set it lighter for the hand you are rehabbing and heavier for the one you are not.

It counts for you

A mechanical counter in the body clicks over on every full close, which matters more than it sounds: counting in your head is exactly the thing that goes when a set gets hard, and a counter also quietly tells you whether you actually closed the handles or stopped short.

Panel listing the resistance range, why adjustable, the rep counter, build and swapping hands

Close it properly or drop the weight

The single most common mistake with a gripper is loading it heavy and only half-closing it — which trains half the range and builds a grip that is strong in one narrow position. Set a tension you can shut cleanly for ten to fifteen reps, and only add load when the last rep of a set stops being hard.

Small enough to stay in reach

It fits a desk drawer, a glovebox or a gym bag. Grip work only does anything if it happens often, and the thing that decides that is whether the gripper is within arm's reach or in another room.
