Automatic Electric Pencil Sharpener

A sharp point in about five seconds, without getting up.

Press a pencil into the top and the motor starts on its own. Lift it out sharp, put it back on the page, and carry on. No cord, no crank, no walking to the wall sharpener.

It is a small thing that removes a small interruption — the one that keeps happening. Homework, lesson prep, sketching, a desk drawer full of blunt pencils on a Monday morning: this sits beside you and handles it.

How it works

Push down. That is the whole control.

Slide the switch on the front to ON. Line a pencil up with the hole in the ridged collar on top and press it straight down — the motor picks up as soon as the pencil engages, and stops when you lift it out.

The shavings drop into the clear chamber wrapped around the front, so you can see how full it is getting instead of discovering it the hard way.

Three things worth knowing before anything else

~5 sec

Per pencil

The supplier's own timing for a standard pencil, and it matches what the demo footage shows.

Cordless

Runs on batteries

No outlet, no cable across the desk. Batteries are not included in the box.

See-through

Shavings chamber

The clear front chamber tells you when to empty it, before it packs solid.

Read this part first

Will it take your pencils?

This is the question that decides whether you keep it, so here is the honest answer rather than a longer list of things it does.

  • Yes — standard barrels. Round and hexagonal pencils measuring 6–8 mm (0.24–0.31 in) across the barrel. That is the everyday No. 2 / HB size most pencils are.
  • No — jumbo and triangular barrels. Chunky learner pencils and fat triangular grips are wider than the opening. They will not go in.
  • No — soft, wax-core pencils. The supplier excludes soft pencils, and soft waxy cores are what gum up mechanisms in this class of sharpener. If your coloured pencils are the soft, buttery kind, sharpen those by hand.

Measure one pencil with a ruler before you order. Thirty seconds now beats a return later.

First five minutes

Fit batteries

Batteries are not supplied, so have some ready before the first school morning you need it.

Switch it on

Slide the front switch to ON. Press a pencil down into the collar and let it do the work — don't force it.

Empty it early

Switch OFF, lift the top collar, tip the chamber out. Doing it before it is full keeps the cut clean.

Colours

Blue, black or pink.

The same machine in three finishes: a light blue, a gloss black with a brushed silver band, and a soft pink. Each one has the same clear front chamber and the same ridged collar on top.

Two other choices sit in the same dropdown and are not the electric sharpener — read the option label carefully before you add to cart. One is a replacement cutter assembly on its own; the other is a five-pack of small manual pocket sharpeners.

Safety

There is a motor and a blade inside.

Treat it like a small appliance rather than a toy. Switch it to OFF before you lift the collar or empty the chamber, and keep fingers and hair away from the opening while it is switched on. The collar carries lock and unlock markings — leave it locked while you are sharpening.

Children can absolutely use it. We would keep an adult in the room for younger ones, the same way you would with scissors.

Straight answers

Are batteries included?

No. The packing list is one sharpener and nothing else, so buy batteries at the same time. We are confirming the exact size and count with the supplier and will state it here once we have it in writing rather than guess.

Will it sharpen coloured pencils?

Only if they are standard 6–8 mm barrels with a firm core. Soft, waxy cores are excluded by the supplier and are the usual cause of a jammed sharpener. Hard-core coloured pencils in the standard barrel size are fine.

How big is it really?

2.4 × 2.8 × 2.4 in (6.1 × 7.1 × 6.1 cm) — roughly a coffee-mug footprint. It will not dominate a desk or a pencil case drawer.

Can I replace the cutter when it dulls?

Yes. The cutter sits in a removable assembly, and that assembly is sold separately in the option dropdown on this page.

Does it stop on its own?

It starts when a pencil engages and stops when you lift the pencil out. Use the front switch as your OFF — we do not publish an interlock claim, so treat the machine as live whenever the switch is on.

What is it made of?

ABS plastic body with a brushed metal-look band around the shoulder and a smoke-tinted clear chamber.

Stop sharpening. Start writing.

Standard pencils, about five seconds each, anywhere you can put it down.
