Sonic Facial Cleansing Brush

Your fingers skate. A washcloth drags.

A soft silicone head that vibrates against your skin while you use the cleanser you already own. It carries that cleanser evenly across your face, it rinses clear under the tap in seconds, and there are no bristle bundles to hold water between washes.

The head

Two sides, two jobs

The face of the head is covered in very fine, very short silicone bristles set in tight rings. They are soft enough to bend flat under light pressure, which is the point — you are not scrubbing, you are letting the vibration do the work while the bristles carry cleanser into the places a fingertip glides over.

Turn it over and the back is different: a patch of rounded raised nubs, and a band of firmer comb-like ridges along the top rim. That side is for massage — jaw, cheekbones, the sides of the nose — once the cleansing is done.

The controls

Three buttons. That is the entire interface.

One recessed strip on the front of the handle: power at the top, plus in the middle, minus at the bottom. Press power to start, hold it to stop. Plus and minus move the vibration up and down through its settings.

There is no app, no screen, no mode wheel and nothing to pair. If your skin is reactive, or you have never used a cleansing brush before, start on the lowest setting and stay there for the first week.

Why silicone

The reason this is not a nylon brush head

Traditional cleansing brushes use bristle heads you are told to replace every few months, because packed nylon filaments hold water and residue between them. A molded silicone head does not have that problem, and it is the biggest practical difference between this and the brush your bathroom cabinet already ate.

Read this before you buy

What we will say about water, and what we will not

This is a basin tool. Wet your face, wet the head, work your cleanser in, then rinse the head under a running tap and stand it up to dry. That is the use we are selling you, and it is the use every photograph on this page shows.

The maker prints a waterproof rating on the retail carton. We have not been shown a test report behind it, so we are not going to repeat that rating as though it were our own measurement.
So we are not telling you to shower with it. Until we can show you the certificate, do not submerge it, do not leave it standing in water, and do not take it into the bath.
Charge it dry. The contacts on the base of the handle are bare metal. Dry the handle before the cable goes anywhere near it.

We would rather under-promise here than have you find the limit the expensive way.

Charge it first

The cable's round head clips magnetically onto the base of the handle. The other end is a standard USB-A plug.

Use your own cleanser

None is supplied. Whatever you use now goes on the head or on your damp face, and the brush spreads it.

The specification, and its gaps

What the maker actually publishes

The head is soft silicone. The body is ABS plastic. Power comes from a rechargeable lithium battery sealed inside the handle — it is not removable and there are no disposable cells to buy. It sits in one hand, and the head is roughly three fingers across.

What the maker does not publish: the battery capacity, how long a charge lasts, how long it takes to charge, the vibration frequency, or how many speed settings there are. We are not going to put numbers on this page that we cannot show you the source for, so those are absent rather than estimated.

Straight answers

The claims we are not going to make

This is a cleansing and massage tool. It moves cleanser around your face more evenly than your fingers do, and it feels good along the jaw afterwards. That is the whole mechanism.

It is not a treatment for acne, and it will not change the size of your pores, resurface anything, or do anything to a line or a wrinkle. Some of the maker's own artwork for this device draws waves traveling down into a cross-section of skin. We have taken those pictures off this page, because we cannot support what they imply and neither can the maker.

No dermatologist has recommended this device to us. Nobody has reviewed it here yet either — this product has no ratings on our store, and we are not going to borrow any from somewhere else.
